Hi All,
Well I am finally getting back into building rods after a breif interuption due to Mariage and a new baby!!! I am looking to build a couple of Jigging Rods for small bluefin.... I saw a couple of threads on the GUSA and Super Seeker blanks but was wondering if anyone has used the CTS blanks yet??? Specifically the @#$%& or BJ series (spinning blanks)??? I have heard great things about these blanks.... Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Tom Re: Butterfly Jigging Blanks for BFT

Tom, I wrapped one of the GUSA jigging blanks PURJ 603's for a guy, first time out he landed a 144# Bluefin with an Avet HX @ 22#'s of drag , without a problem.
What length are you looking for, and what are you looking to toss? Jigs, poppers? What size spinning or converntional reel? Do you have a preference for graphtie or composite? Re: Butterfly Jigging Blanks for BFT

Hey Billy,
I was looking for a light weight blank ..... so probably a graphite one..... I am up in the air on a lenght???? I have heard +/- on both long vs. short. I was thinking somewhere in the 6'-7' range! The reel I have in mind is the 1800 Shimano Saragosa, or if I go Conventional an Avet Series (not sure which one??) Jig weight between 4-8 oz. I know this might be a little vauge but I am new to the jigging world! Any reccomendations would be greatly appreciated! PS-I just went you a e-mail regarding the next Rod builders meeting in October. Re: Butterfly Jigging Blanks for BFT

if i may chime in... i dont know if they are available but if you are butterfly jigging using a conventional setup... the shimano trevala jigging rods are insane!!!! we use them all the time.. and not just for butterfly jigging. they are perfect for BFT. TC4 series not sure if a blank is available though.. if someone finds one will you let me know... Re: Butterfly Jigging Blanks for BFT

Hey Tom, I just received my full line of jigging specific blanks. Lightweight, slim profile, parabolic. Some of the top Charter Captains of NC helped me fine tune my choices and my prototypes are being used from Morehead City to Southport on a wide variety of species with great success. My website is real close to being completed but you can click on the Riley Rods link from the sponsor list on the left for my email and I'll be happy to give you more info and testimonials.
