I was just wondering how you guys were installing the acs reel seat and if rodbond works good or if a liquid glue would be better on the acs? Re: fuji acs reel seat

Rod Bond or Ultimate Gel is what I would use. Liquid has a nasty habit of running out and creating a mess. The Gels pretty much stay where you put it and, IMO, give a much better bond. The only place that I ever use a "liquid" epoxy is when making a ramp in front of the seat. Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Re: fuji acs reel seat

I'm with Mike on this one. I love the ASC seat, use a lot of them. I always use Rod Bond for the same reasons Mike stated. No mess. Re: fuji acs reel seat

I've used both 15min Ultimate Gel and 5min FC epoxy....either does perfectly well.

now when you guys install them, do you buy them a size small and then ream them to fit? Re: fuji acs reel seat

The whole point of the sizing is that you are able to get the seat to fit as closely as possible to the blank. If where the seat sits falls between sizes, then get the smaller size and ream slightly. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
