car claims another one!!!!

A friend backed over his store bought Mitchell med. action 6`6`` spinning rod and crushed it half way up the blank.

Is this repairable by using ferrels? If so, how do I correctly measure the size needed.

Thanks to all.

It's repairable by hoping Mitchel has a no fault warantee. lol.

You can possibly oversleeve it, no need to use a ferrule.

Read the article here in the online library about repairing rods. It's quite good.

If the crushed area encompasses too large an area, it may be toast.

Thanks Tom and Billy,

it really looks to be a great article to read

. He brought the rod in at lunch yesterday and has a crack in it from guide to guide. I said you may just give to me. Some day I will need a guide or two plus a couple of reamers.

Thanks for your thoughts.
