Dear Friends,
I have few guide sets like this: [www.rodbuilding.org] No brand marks, nothing. As I can't define it's source (probably Asia) I would like to know: How do you pick your guides? weight, material, finish, etc? Is it possible and/or necessary some abrasion testing on the guides? I would like to hear from you the way you choose this kind of critical component when outside the "mainstream" (Fuji, etc) Regards, Rogerio de Paula Re: Guide quality

Can't say who made that particular one but as far as I know (I could be wrong) all guides are made in Asia. Again, I may be wrong but I believe that ANY guide with inserts on the market today is more than capable of handling anything that can be thrown at it. I generally choose guides by things such as shape, color,, etc. I personally have NEVER seen a guide actually fail other than abuse and would feel perfectly comfortable using any guide that met mine or my customer's needs. Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Re: Guide quality

It appears to be a fairly close match to an American Tackle GCUE. or possibly Pac Bay LCTNG, but if I had to guess, it would be teh AmTak Re: Guide quality

I do not beleive it is a Batson guide. You might give Karry or Bill Batson a call. I am sure they know who built it.
