I am working on another new Fish decal and need ya'll to help me.
I need to size this fish decal to the rod that will be used to catch it. I have never seen a Yellowtail Kingfish and have only found one resource that say's the average size caught is 30-40 pounds. Can anyone tell me? Jimi Ellis Re: Yellowtail Kingfish- average size

I just got back from NSW, Australia and can send you some photos if it helps. I think this time the ones we caught were in the 20-25lb area but I have caught them up to 50. Send me your e-mail address and I will send you a few photos.
We were high speed jigging for them. Some of the guys were using Calstar 760L 6ft blanks cut down to 5'7.5ft spinning rods with Daiwa 6500 reels from Japan. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/23/2008 04:51PM by Albert Albano. Re: Yellowtail Kingfish- average size

Jimi, the yellowtail kingfish is the same fish as the California yellowtail, just a different subspecies. Identical in appearance. Re: Yellowtail Kingfish- average size
