Silicone Nitride Guides

Does anyone currently carry, or know who currently carries, the new Fuji Silicone Nitride guides for wire. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Another question I have is: Does anyone know if the roller guides for spiral wrapping a rod are available anywhere? I would like to get a set (Including the Tip Top) for both an IGFA 30# and 50# Class setup.

Dwayne,
You can try & email John (aka @#$%&) ([email protected]) about the Acid wrap roller guides. I think he was in at the basement floor in rollers for acid wrapping.

Fuji has offered Silicon Nitride guides for wire line fishing for about 20 years now, I believe. I am not sure what the current frame styles may be however. Almost anyone who carries the Fuji product line should be able to get them for you.

John and Jim are testing their initial set of roller guides right now. I do not believe they have set up to manufacture and sell them, or whether or not they plan to do so. But you could email them and get a direct answer either way. I suspect that we will have rollers suitable for spiral wrapping in the coming years, from these guys or someone else.

Spiral Wrapped Roller Guides. . .

We have a rod out on a 10-day longrange trip of the Coast Baja California with Jim Kastroff, if anyone will give us a good critique on the functionality of these guides, it will be Jim.
Dwayne, there are only two sets of these guides, whether or not there will be more will depend partly on Jim's evaluation and a lot on John's own evaluation and re-design.
We will by all means keep you all informed!

If you're interested here is a link to the "American Angler" longrange sportfishing boat of the coast of Mexico on a 10day trip.

If you look on Thursday's report, Rodbldr, Jim Kastroff sent a short message to @#$%&, John Helga, "The Acid roller rod is working great with YT(California Yellowtail) and YFT (Yellowfin Tuna) to 40#"!
