Hi guys
Where can I find a 3 or 4 jaw chuck for the Lathe sold in High Point, I was on the Wood craft site, they only had one chuck for the Jet Lathe.
Thanks for the Help
Best Regards Mark Crouse
PS: I had to buy that thing, because you can never have to many toys in the shop, I like in every corner a Lathe.

Are you talking about the Jet lathes that WoodCraft had on sale? Most any woodworking store will have good ones that will fit. Vimark, Nova, OneWay Talon, etc.

WoodCraft has others that will fit. Just match the shaft diameter and thread pitch. I think it's 1x16 or 1x8. Your lathe instructions will tell you.

Mark,
Are you looking for a chuck to hold wood stock so you can bore a hole through for turning? If so, there are quite a few at varying price points. Each has its own features as well, and each comes with one to several jaw sets. Something else to consider is whether tightening is a one or two hand operation. Some have a single tightening tool while others have two bars that are used to lever the jaws shut. Search around on the net and you'll see quite a few. There were also some posts recently where chucks were recommended at low, medium and higher prices.

The Woodcraft store in Greensboro, NC, which was the vendor at the Show, also carries a Nova G3 4-jaw mini chuck for the headstock, along with the jaws. Just make sure you also get the 1x8 adapter for it as well. I got one at the show, got the wrong adapter, and they replaced it immediately with no shipping charges and absolutely no hassle.

They also sell the fixed chuck for the tailstock and it's MT2 center, which they went back to the store Sat night and brought to me Sun, after I realized I needed one.

Just call them (336-235-0900). They are great people and very nice to deal with.
