I'd like to exchange Email w/ someone who has built the Lamiglas FL783-3 (6'6") 3 WT and/or the FL843-3 (7') 3 WT... These are the in the Lamiglas Fly Series (3 piece, slow action, spigot ferrules)... I'm looking for stripping / running guide recommendations, guide spacing, reel seat and thread color recommendations...

Regards, Vance

I have built both multiple times.
8 guides total for both
size 8 stripping guide
1/0 to the tip
I static deflect, and spacings are a bit variable, depending on the particular blank and stripping guide placement.
Gudebrod garnet, chestnut, candy apple, and fenwick brown all look good
Both are true 3wts by my ERN with the 843-3 being the smoother and better casting of the two IMHO.

Didn't the honey glass fly blanks go through some changes for this year? For some reason, I thought I'd seen something about Lamiglas changes with the blanks?

There have been no changes in the standard fiberglass fly blanks. Actually there have been no changes to this series in 10 years, just some additions.

William... Thanks for your reply on the Lamiglas blanks... Any thoughts on reel seats? Best, Vance
