Just wondering what you have had best results for hte Tiger wraps... A thread for the lower wrap and D upper? A thread on both? Does it matter?

Thanks for any feedback.......

A thread for both works best for me.

Same size on everything for the best effect.

I agree with the above; the smaller threads (I use a lot of Sulky metallics for these) look better to me.

I have done 3 threads on the bottom (A or the slightly smaller Sulky's) and instead of doing 3 threads of A on the top, I've done the A thread I wish to leave there and a D thread for a sacrificial with it (just to make it easier). That seems to work just as well as using two A threads for the sacrificials.

They all work, but the smaller threads have a more flowing and subtle effect. But, D still works and looks great on the larger diameter rods.

on the one wrap i've done on a rod and the twenty two thousand (joke) i've done on a dowel rod concerning this very question, here's what i got so far. AA on bottom and A,Asacrificial on top gives more subtle patterns with some swirls and circles. my buddy says it looks like a grouper's mottling.
AA on bottom with A, Dsacrificial gives very pronounced stripes. they still have varying widths to some degree and move up and down the rod a little but they generally come back to themselves as you rotate the rod. both look cool in their own way, just depends what your after. really best way is to grab a one dollar dowel rod and put about ten of them on there using different patterns. label each one on the rod next to it so you know how you made it.
