While I was reading Rodmaker last night and my wife noticed the two tickets to the reception and asked if any wives were going? Since this is my first year (of many I hope) of going to the show I couldn't answer that. She'd like to go but didn;t want to be the only woman there. So my questions to you guys are...
Who all is bringing there wife or girl friend to the reception? Or is the reception just a "guy thing"? Ash Re: What about your significant other?

I hope it's ok, I'll be in big trouble if not, as I already asked my wife to come.
Well, bring her along, if nothing else you can come find the "other" couple to socialize with. Regards, Mark Re: What about your significant other?

There's a lot of women there (both at the show & reception), they seem more amused at my shoes than their husbands. Re: What about your significant other?

Seems to me that most of the women at the reception are the ones that run away way the door prizes. Re: What about your significant other?

I would guess that more than half of the prizes at the Reception last year went to the sane side of the partnership! Re: What about your significant other?

Probably 30% of the folks at the reception are women.
You'll also be surprised at how many female rod builders there are. The exhibit hall is filled with them and we're just talking wives, but women who come of their own accord. So do allow their husbands to tag along. ............... Re: What about your significant other?

I had some stats down from some earlier mailing list research and I show that over 400 RodMaker subscribers are women. Now that's still a small overall number compared to the total tally of subscribers and I'm sure that at least a few of these have the subscriptions in their names but actually for their husbands. Still, female rod builders are not a rare breed. There are plenty of them out there.
Rod builder or not, your wife won't be the only woman in the room. Not even close. .......... Re: What about your significant other?

I bet that if you went into any factory almost all of the production builders would be women. They tend to do much better at detailed repetitive operations. Re: What about your significant other?

If you need a room at the Rad you might want to check - I had it for 3 nights. Have fun guys! I am so green with envy!!! Please, everyone take pictures and put a slide show together for us unfortunates back home! Chuck Mills Re: What about your significant other?

I think my wife is looking forward to it as much as I am; or maybe it's just a ploy to control my spending. Either way she'll be there. Walt Davenport "Roadhouse Rods" Re: What about your significant other?

Just an FYI to those bringing their ladies. Keep a close eye on them, this is what happened a few years ago when I wasn't paying attention.
