Ditto!
That blank was designed by Batson for this purpose and is labled by them as the "Senko Special" Re: Blank suggestion for unweighted Senkos

Steve (and Spencer), I assume you've handled this blank. What exactly makes it "special"? I mean, compared to any other good quality 6 1/2' fast action blank? The reason I'm asking is I'd like to build myself another (or ten) spinning rod for skipping flukes, tubes & senkos under docks, etc. I like a 6 1/2 or 7' rod for this with 15# or 20# PP. Thanks. Between shopping, learning, hanging out, seminars, talking with other builders about their ideas, and admiring their amazing craftsmanship in ever isle I will be all over the place during both days. Tom Kirkman, Bob McKamey, Bill Batson, Bill Stevens, or Billy Vivona and a few others can point me out if you don't see me. Re: Blank suggestion for unweighted Senkos

I have a plan for a large PVC tube on the luggage rack. You'll see me... look for the wide-eyed guy covered with drool! Re: Blank suggestion for unweighted Senkos

Chuck if you do the PVC thing make sure you wrap things up so it can not move back and forth every time you stop and start moving or you are liable to have several busted tips.
One thing that will help also is to wrap rods together facing opposite directions with the tips recessed a little that way any movement shock is absorbed by the stronger handle ends. Re: Blank suggestion for unweighted Senkos

My vote for that application is the St. Croix 3C68MXF. This rod can also be had in the SCIV and the SCV. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
