drop shot handle design

I am looking to put together a drop shot rod, spinning reel seat and want the reel seat to end right with no fore grip. How should I close off that gap typically there is a larger hole in the seat for arbors to fill. how can I finish off with a black graphite or plastic piece directly in front of the reel seat. I looked at winding checks nothing is large enough to cover the gap between the blank and the seat walls.

I build my spinning rods with one cork ring on either side of the reel seat. Then I carefully blend the cork into the reel seat and taper them down to match the outside of a winding check. This gives me a smooth transition down to the blank.

epoxy ramp w/thread wrap, rubber crommit type gizmo, fill seat end with colored epoxy,
the possabilities are endless once you realy think about it.

Jason;
I build my ramps with Rod Bond and wrap with thread. I will put it on with a Popsicle stick until I get the amount I want then let it set and harden up some. While it is still workable I take a small stainless steel spatula and dip it in a cup of water and smooth it down to the shape I want . After it hardens completely, I then take a small fine cut file and knock down any little high spots. A lot of builders use a 2 part epoxy with the rod rotating on an upward angle. That makes a nice smooth ramp and probably easier than the way I do it. I haven't tried that yet.

I used the Forecast Pipe Seat BPSTG16 and the BWC11 rubber winding check was a perfect match to cap it off.
