Rod Tip for a St. Croix Kit

Happy New Year to all

I purchased a complete Rod Building Kit; St. Croix 2570MF2 (the "5" may be an "S") 7' SCII graphite Medium Power Fast Action 6-12 line weight. The guides that came with the kit are seven single foot guides, but there doesn't seem to be a tip. The smallest guide, the one I assume is the tip is also single foot, and not a "cap" type of tip. Is this normal? I was under the assumption that the tip was a cap for structural integrity reasons. Did I purchase a low end kit and am I supposed to tie the tip like a regular ring? or should i go out and purchase a standard cap tip?

Thanks for the help. As always, it is MUCH appreciated.
peace

IMO, the tip was accidently left out ... check with the vendor, however. I wouldn't use the SF guide for the top ... besides you already have barely enough guides to assemble the rod.

The St. Croix guide sets were not sold with tips. They needed to be ordered separately. St. Croix no longer sells their guide kits and tips. So like Jim said go back to where you purchased this from and ask them for help. If they cannot , feel free to contact me.
