It's my fault. I was finishing over labeling - a long 6" section - using LS Supreme Hi-Build. It was doing okay without heat (as the instructions recommend), but I just HAD to pull out the alcohol burner. Anyway, it made the finish thin in such a way that it ran into waves and it left me one small bubble. This is a personal rod so it doesn't have to be perfect, but is there a way I can smooth the finish a bit and put another coat on? I have to finish another rod today anyway so it's a good time to do it. Re: HELP - Finish is wavy w/ one bubble

Lightly sand it level (just brush the sanding dust off-don't use alcohol)) and recoat and you will be fine. Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/22/2007 08:43AM by Mike Barkley. Yep ... like the man said. BTW, LS Supreme HATES heat ... it will boil at a VERY low temperature and leave you really in pain. You can't flame it like Flexcoat and some of the others. Just put it on and leave it alone. Always remember that if you don't get enough finish, you just do another thin layer and you are there ... too much finish and you get to spend the whole day trying to correct it. A 6 inch section of labeling,,,I would do what Mike Barkley taught me to do. Put the next coat of finish on with a playing card or old credit card. Hold the card underneath the rod with rod turning, it will help fill in the low areas. I do this all the time on a long areas, works great.
