spiral on 2 piece rod

Laying out guides on 2 piece rod for spiral. The question is do all the guides on the top piece have to be 180 from reel? I think It will work both ways. But have concern about one guide on top that might not be 180 . The next one will. There are 9 more guides mostly 8-6. Total length of rod is 9'6"-Thanks for info Bill

Bill,

I just finished a build for my brother-in-law on an 8 foot, two piece blank that was spiral wrapped. And actually, the bumper ended up being wrapped at the ferrul location on the upper section of the blank. Don't get caught up in one-piece vs. two-piece. Just put the two pieces together and lay the guides out how they want to be layed out. There will be no ill effects due to the fact that it's a two-piece blank at all.
