I glued a reel seat today with Gorilla Glue. The seat was well taped to prevent the glue from getting on it, but there were a few areas of the knurled seal that abuts the cork that had glue on it.
Even wiping with denatured alcohol and it's still there- anyway to remove this without trashing the seat altogether?? Re: Glue Cleaning

Not really sure without a picture but I have gently removed overrun Gorilla Glue with a sharp xacto blade and a dental pick......You have to be careful but....................... Derek L. McMaster Rohnert Park, CA Born to Fish, FORCED to Work Re: Glue Cleaning

Gorilla Glue is tough stuff ... may I suggest that you try U40's Rod Bond in the near future. Easy cleanup, super strong and yet flexible. Re: Glue Cleaning

Gorilla glue and most of the urethane expanding glues can only be cleaned up mechanically once dry. That means scraping or sanding. I have yet to find something that will act as a solvent. Re: Glue Cleaning

You may want to try U40 Brush Cleaner?
Gorilla glue has a learning curve on how much is enough so maybe next time use a reel seat shim with Rod Bond works for me and clean up is a cinch. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
