Sorry in advance if this is not appropriate for this forum, but I just heard that rod builder Artie Hebert has passed away. I learned a lot from his videos and have friends that fished with him for many years.

I watched many of his videos when I first was getting started. Never met him but wish I could have, seems like a pretty cool guy based on the pic and his nickname "the loaded mullet" posted on the link you posted. RIP Re: Artie Hebert Passed Away

Sorry to hear it. We used to keep in touch but I hadn't heard from him in the past year. I knew he'd been having some health problems.

Add me to the list of those who have learned from Artie. Sorry to hear this. His Candy Apply guide wrap set teh groundwork for how I build every one of my rods. He defiantely had a major impact on teh Rodbuilding Community. Re: Artie Hebert Passed Away

Oh !! What sad news !!.....When I first started to build rods, I would call Artie to ask him questions, and he was always very gracious to me....he was like a cornerstone....
That is indeed, sad news !! MaryLou MaryLou Van de Riet Weatherford,Texas USA Re: Artie Hebert Passed Away

Artie used to bring in samples of his work to the local "build it yourself" shop. Great craftsman. I barely have the patience for a simple weave. The thrill is not in the kill Re: Artie Hebert Passed Away

Sorry to hear of his passing. I had all his videos, and I'm sure many that build learned something from him just like I did.
I can still hear him complaining about static electricity, and will always remember having to rewind a couple times when I first heard him say the word cork. Rest in peace. Walt Davenport "Roadhouse Rods" Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
