I'm doing a tiger wrap with a tan and green base that I put color preserver on. I want to use the same green on top but want it to be a bit darker. If I don't use CP on top will the tan underneath bleed thru the top layer?? Yes, I know I could do a test but I'm trying to get this done and a test would take me a couple days. I did one with a med. brown and bright green underwrap, two coats of CP, then overwrapped with black. It left a nice green and brown pattern a bit darker than the colors appeared before the overwrap. Dark brown and the same green with one coat of CP on the guide wraps was a pretty good match. I like the predictability of using a black overwrap. Sorry, don't know what kind of blend you will get without CP on top. Re: Tiger wrap bleed-thru?

Like you said there is some predictability with black since it doesn't need CP. I already have it wrapped with the green, just trying to decide to put CP over it. I'm doing it on one of the Mudhole camo blanks and want to match all the colors in the camo. That's why I want to do the dark green over the CP'd green, just don't want to have the tan bleed thru the top green. Re: Tiger wrap bleed-thru?

Scott,
Your gonna get some tan showing thru in moire effect depending on the vewing angle. If the top green goes too translucent (and I'm sure you will get some) I fear the moire effect would be lost or greatly deminished. I think you could perform a quick test with a 2in wrap. bottom & CP =30min with hair dryer finish over bottom with Hard as Nails clear fingernail polish = sets very fast (dont remember time but FAST) top green w/epoxy. dont have to wait for epoxy to set to see what you need to. BTW, you didnt specify thread size or maker and color number. With that info maybe someone can help with direct experience with that thread or help with a quick test Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Tried a test wrap , but rushed it so much that it turned into a gooey mess. From what I could tell the wrap without CP was difficult to see the tiger wrap so I decided to use CP it came out great. I'll post some pics when I get the chance. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
