St. Croix 3FT864 older matte black blank?

Hello,
I'm looking for an older model matte black St. Croix SCIII 8'6" 4wt 4pc fly blank (3FT864). Does anyone know the whereabouts of any old stock SCIII blanks? I like the newer Avids, but am specifically looking for one of the older matte black pre-IPC blanks.

One of the first rods I ever built was on this blank, and it was a real smooth 4wt that I had a lot of fun with. After catching lots of fish, I gave it to a friend a couple of years ago, and it's turned into one of his favorite lighter rods. And...you guessed it....now I'm missing the rod.

Anyway, thanks for any leads!

Tom

Tom,

You are so right, I have lost a couple St Croix blanks that are no longer available for that very reason. You give it to a friend to try and then they wont let you have it back. St Croix no longer makes them... arghhh... Good Luck on your search!! I have heard on this board that "you can always get new friends, go get your rod back" Its an option!!

Good luck finding one, a buddy has a dandy old 4FT864 2 piece rod and you couldn't get that rod from him for the world.
