#104 - Do NOT line up the reel seat with the "straightest axis" of the blank AFTER returning home from a dinner party. For some reason, the grips twist later while you are sleeping (it off) and the end result is not what OCD rodbuilders find desirable.

Always remember that it is your darkest hour looking at the stupid mistake you just made on that rod - just before it goes pitch dark... in other words - don't make the mistake you just made worse with your cure. If you are lucky someone on Rodbuilder.com is still up and will answer your question on what to do when they give you the solution in a couple of minutes - before you REALLY mess things up. ;) REALLY!
