New Information on St. Croix SCIII (Avid series)

Coming this Fall will be the retooled AVID (SCIII) models of blanks. The new color will be a carbon pearl finish. There will be a few new models and sorry to say some of your old favorites may be gone from the 2008 series. Prices on average have risen about $5 per blank.
With all this said we are making room for the new blanks and are giving you a chance to stock up or get your favorite models in the old matte gray finish. We are running a special sale on all in stock Avid blanks- you must e-mail me direct for the list which will have quantity available, original retail prices and your special pricing. Please specify if you are a wholesale or retail account when asking for this information.

Thank you!
Sincerely-
Karen Hapka

What is Carbon Pearl? Is this similar to a matte finish with pearl glitter?

These new blanks do NOT have the matte gray finish. They have a glossy medium gray finish. I am going to assume they are glossy like the SCIV's. The description of the SCIV's are listed as gloss cobalt blue pearl finish. Hope this anwers your question somewhat.

They now have the IPC technology for this year right? Anyone know if the IPC really makes any difference? (I'm not sure I even understand what that really means.)

Yes, the new blanks have IPC (Integrated Poly Curve) technology. In a nutshell, the taper is continuous. The new blanks are lighter, yet stronger. The new color isn't dramatically different and is still very neutral and will go with almost any color combination.

I am still waiting on the part numbers - but St Croix is also bringing back the SCII Inshore lineup, including a few new "popping" models. YEAH!!!
