We just received our new Spey Blanks & Switch Blanks.

Rainshadow RX7 Switch Rod Blanks:
What is a Switch Rod? It is a blank designed to be used as either a single hand or double hand fly rod, that was designed to cast with conventional fly lines. The added length enables greater line control and casting distance for various presentations. Our new switch rod blanks feature a highly technical blend of RX6, RX7, and RX8 high strain graphite material. We combine the 3 types of graphite material to achieve the precise action, weight, and strength we required for these models.

Glad to hear the news of these new products arriving. The folks Batson are continually., busy developing new products for the rod building industry. If anyone is interested in any of these new blanks, just contact me. Being a Batson distributor, we'll be glad to help assist you with the new blanks or any of their products, as we order on a weekly basis with them. Another new item they have introduced for 2008, that I have been extremely impressed with, is the new line-up of the Alps "Light" XN sereis of guides. The frame is made of the SS316 stainless steel for enhanced corrosion resistance. The specs also listed them as 28% lighter than their comparable "U" frame double footed guide. They come in three frame finishes, Polished SS316 Stainless, Double Black Chrome plating over SS316 Stainless or the PVD TiCh {Gunsmoke} plating over SS316 Stainless. The rings are offered in either Hard Auminum Oxide or a shiney black Zirconium, in sizes from 16 down to 6. They also have the newer recessed ring design, which protest the ring from impact and better durability. For those wanting to use single footed guides in conjunction with these, they also have the single foot guides in the SS316 material with the recessed ring design. Just give me a call at 931-684-6164 or shoot me a e-mail message to - customtackle@united.net - and I'll be glad to help assist you with these new procucts or any of the Batson lin-up of products. Just let me know that you saw this on rodbuilding.org and we'll work up a special introductory price for you!!
