TM lite question

Just tried it for the first time this morning. I know it has a longer working time, but is this normal? I didn't do anything different than I normaly do with the TM regular. One other thing, I didn't recieve any new syringes so I used the ones from my TM regular bottles. I wouldn't think so, but do you think that was the culprit here if something is indeed out of wack? Thanks all.

Normal compared to what?? You didn't say "what" was normal. How long has it been on? What is the room temp. It has a longer cure time if that's what you're asking.

Tim,
I am not quite sure what you're asking, but yes, the potlife on the Lite is about 1 hour (maybe a tad more) as opposed to 25min. on the High build. You should not be using the same syringes as the PartA Resin is not the same....the hardener is the same though.

Sorry guys...brain fart and lack of proof reading. It has been on the rod 8 hours.

Same as all other epoxies....flat caps. Syringes and Yorkers are available seperately. We used to suppply them w//yorkers instead of flat caps, but everyone hated the yorkers except for about 1/2% of the builders out there. The only place people REALLY like the Yorkers is in Europe for whatever reason.

Tim,
I am still confused as to what you're asking. You say the epoxy has been on the rod 8 hours.....and is it still tacky? Has it not cured? I guess I am having difficulty understanding what EXACTLY you are expierencing. Please be very specific.

Andy,
I applied the finish this morning about 8:30 and checked it at 4:00 and the finish is still a little tacky. Not too bad, cause it has set up enough that I can trim any fuzzies, but just barely. Usually by this time in my experience, the regular is usually not tacky at all. Just wondering if this was normal for the lite after 8 hrs. Like I said before, I used the syringes that I use with my regular TM. I acctually swapped the caps since I have the syringes "mounted" in the caps. Maybe that is the cause? I don't mean to say that I mixed the two, but I did share the syringes.

That sounds pretty normal. The Lite is not tack free until about 8 hours. A safe rule of thumb is to take the High Build attributes and double them.

HB Potlife: 25 Min
Lite Potlife: 1hour

HB Gel Time: 1.5 hours
Lite Gel Time: 3 Hours

HB Tack Free: 4 Hours
Lite Tack Free: 8 Hours

Thanks Andy,
Do you see any problems sharing the syringes without cleaning them out with alcohol? like I said, I just switched the caps from the regular to the lite.

Tim,
Syringes only coat about $1.00 per pair. I'd say get a seperate set to avoid contamination.
