rod bond or 5 min epoxy for gimbles

After having to take off an eva butt cap I noticed that the rod bond was still pliable, which it is suppose to be, just wondering if a hard setting 5 min epoxy would be better for gimbals?

I use 24 hour epoxy. Don't want that gimbal coming off half way through a pump and wind.......

To my understanding the length of time it takes for an epoxy to cure, has nothing to do with the end result of holding capacity.
I would also think that an epoxy with some flexibility would perform better on a rod that has flexibility to it. Allowing it to move with the rod.

I prefer Ultimate Gel or Rod Bond for all my adhesive needs (except for tips and ramps) Stays where I put it and with no waste, saves a lot in money and cleanup in the long run

TEh problem I have had with 5 minute Devcon epoxy and tip tops is below freezing temps combined with teh rod getting bounced around, smacked, dropped, whatever - has led to several tip tops loosening on me. I no longer use that for tip tops, and I'd honestly be afraid to use it on a Gimbal.

I wonder if the flex coat 5 min would be differetn from the Devcon? I've never used the devcon stuff in rod building.

I've had trouble removing my tip tops where I used Flex Coat 5min. Takes good heat, a pair of pliers and some pullin!
