I've never seen anything on rod building on TV before, so thought this was cool. On Comcast on-demand, under sports>angling>versus I noticed a show on bamboo rod building, featuring the boo boys from sweetgrass rods. It was very well done I thought; and pretty neat, as I havent fished with a bamboo rod since I was a kid (wish I could find it) - I would love to learn how to build one for myself now. Anyway, I havent seen much on bamboo building on this site before, but I think I saw something about a demo that will be made at the ICRBE 2008. Thought you might like to know. Would be cool to see stuff on general rod building on TV, though I imagine it would be cost prohibitive...or maybe there is, and I've just missed it...it certainly helps spark interest!

Actually, that makes two such television productions on bamboo rod making. I have a tape of the first one that Golden Witch was involved with for Pennsylvania Public Television. It was very well done.

Yes, there will be an A to Z presention on making bamboo rods at the ICRBE in February. There is no extra charge to attend. The presenters will be there all day, both days, to help and answer any questions you may have as well as letting you get some hand's on experience with this facet of the craft.
