Gents,
Does anyone know of a manufacturer that builds a woven graphite, 2-1/2" tube for a spey rod? Thanks, ED Re: rOD tUBES

If you do a search on the internet they are several manufacturers that build graphite tubing for many applications. as fas as I know it can be gotten in diameters up 22 inches Re: rOD tUBES

Great question and one I'm interested to see the responses.
I've done the internet search and failed to find anything cheap enough. The tubing is out there, but I just can't seen spending a hundred bucks or more for a rod tube. I've been toying with the idea of laying carbon or kevlar fabric over a PVC or ABS tube just for the look. If you found a tube, what would you do for end caps? Re: rOD tUBES

I have been wondering that too. I have a little Scott g series blank I am wanting to build for myself. It is an unsanded blank so you can see the cellophane wrap lines spiraling up the blank (oh how I love that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).
I did find a place online that sells tubing up to 2" diameter with the same cellophane spirals up the tube. I think it would be way cool to have the tube match the blank. The bad news is they were a little over $200 for a 60" piece. I can get two tubes from a 60" section and it would be worth the price to me on my personal rod. I would probably turn the end caps out of the same wood I used on the rod. Might even go nuts and do some feather wraps on the tube. Heck if its gonna match your rod why not? Here is a link to the place I found [www.carbonfibertubeshop.com] If you find someplace less expensive please pass it on. Thanks, Ray Re: rOD tUBES

Several years ago, there was a company by the name of Hollowood. They manufactured wooden tubes (thin plywood cylinders covered with veneers). They have since gone away? Has anyone seen this type of tube? Thanks, ED Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
