My Tiger Experience

After a couple practice attempts, then getting the article - I just finished my first Tiger. Awesome!
I used Metallic Silver and Purple Nylon for under and Royal Blue Metallic for the over. I really caked on the Epoxy between layers and over it all. It's on an 80lb Calstar so the thickness looks pretty good.
There is so much depth to the effect that it looks like you can see right through the blank! The 3D effect in the sun makes the stripes move all over. Really amazing how the purple pretty much disappears only adding a slight hue.

If I can get my camera working I'll post some pics.

Thanks to Scott for sharing!

I just finished my first one the other day on a smaller rod still came out fairly nice. Looks really good in the sun.
Thanks guys for sharing this concept really makes the rod look nice. Seeing that the only decorative wrap I know how to do.

I used MT Green MT Gold under wrap with a MT Purple for the over wrap at some angles the purple has a blue tint. Looks so much nicer out in the sun. Cant wait to do another one.

I actually did that exact combo on a practice attempt. Silver/Ice then Royal. The ice from below actually showed through a fair amount at certain angles. BUT the heavier contrast of the below colors seems to make for more visible stripes.
I really can't stress enough how the deeper epoxy gives such a 3-D effect that you think you are loking right through the blank... It is impossible to tell by looking at where the bottom threads really are....
