Basically it's done by wrapping TWO threads together in one direction and then TWO more back the opposite direction. Then you remove ONE of the TOP threads and the moire patterns shows through the remaining one. Easy to do but take your time and get the spacing precise. There are a lot more little tips and tricks that make the effect even bolder but I'm not up to speed on all of those. They were contained in the Rodmaker article.
