Hello Gents,
Was just poking around Binghams site and I noticed that she has some of the 3f903 and3f904's on sale. I am looking for a new rod that I will be using for trout and panfish with more of an emphasis on panfish.
what do you guys think? any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Tom Kaufmann

Not knowing what line wt you are thinking of i wil guess in the 3/4wt range. the lamiglass honey colored blanks in the 7' 3wt and 7 1'2' 4 wt make nice rods for that kind of quary. if you want longer in that line wt you will have to go with graphite.

I would go with the 3f904. You can still cast a 3 wt. with it if you have to cast very small bugs and upline to a 5 wt. for trout fishing up close. I am not a trout fisherman but it would be the same technique as bream fishing when the bream are close to the bank. The 5 wt. line would be easier to cast up close and still not be overkill for trout, small bass, or bream. Actually both of those weights are a lot of fun to fish. I spent most of the morning tying marabou bugs to fish with my 4 weight. Those blanks are a little harder to detect the load than the Tiger Eye blanks. The Tiger Eye blanks in the 5 weight and under are a joy to cast. Still the SC3's are tough blanks. I have an old style SC3 8 weight that I use for bass fishing. It doesn't come near the feel that my 8 weight CTS has but still a good blank.
