Jeff,
Unhide your e-mail or e-mail me at mbarkley@wowway.com. Motor speed is a personal preference. I have several speeds but no longer use anything but 2/3 rpm which, I feel, gives me the best results although I hand turn for the first hour or so using Threadmaster Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! There are some geared-down motors that can be mounted on a board. Then you can get the rubber-faced chucks that'll fit just about anything, or make one out of a PVC cap and a piece of rubber. These motors will giv e you anything from 1rpm to about 11rpm.
Look on @#$%& as well. If you can come up with a little extra cash, look in the catalogs from the sponsors on this BBS for something like the Pac Bay drying motors with the roller-type support. But I understand the budget problem. Uncle Russ Calico Creek Rods Re: Finishing Motor
