What would be the best choice to glue rubberized cork to EVA. I have Weldwood Contact Cement, ThreadMaster, Titebond III or a off the self 30 min. Epoxy. This is going to get heavy salt water use. I need to get it done ASAP with what I have.
Thanks Bruce I have a lot of time and little money and it all works out just fine GO FISHING <*)))))>{ Re: Which Glue to use Rubberized Cork to EVA

I think that I would use the Contact Cement Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Re: Which Glue to use Rubberized Cork to EVA

Thanks guys for the help.
I used the contact cement. Russ what is Kardol. I'll have to check it out. Fred I thought about epoxy I know it is strong and will hold but I was afraid of a hard glue line when sanded. Mike I took your advice. I know you know your stuff. Time will tell if it was the rite decision. Keep the suggestions coming and explanations I'm not the only one who mite need help. These Q&As help a lot of people. Thanks Bruce I have a lot of time and little money and it all works out just fine GO FISHING <*)))))>{ Re: Which Glue to use Rubberized Cork to EVA

The trick of no glue line is to wipe of the excess with alcohol after joining the two parts, then there is nothing to sand. Re: Which Glue to use Rubberized Cork to EVA

Kardol is the stuff that took the place of Resco ( companies buying companies). It's a two part epoxy similar to Rod Bond. Re: Which Glue to use Rubberized Cork to EVA

The only reason that I said Contact Cement is because I think that when it comes to EVA/Foam to Cork or EVA has a tendency to eventually separate with anything that I have used other than Contact Cement Other than that I use the 15 min Ultimate Gel from Lamar. I use rubber cement (aka contact cement) for EVA and Hypalon. For all other applications I use epoxy, Gorrilla glue, or Titebond III depending on the application.

I've used contact cement to glue cork to cork with no problems whatsoever. For any EVA work use CC. Using epoxy just takes way too long to wait for it to set up. Not to mention teh glue lines...although I do not know if they would be there glueing foam ro cork. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
