I just bought one on clearance and was wondering if anybody had any thoughts. I will build it spinning for surf fishing.

A fantastic rod for that marty. I have built one into a surf rod as well for a fellow firefighter and he throws a 3 oz jig with 15 lb line a looooooooooong way! he loves it. Does the place you bought this from have more? I would love to buy one for myself.

Thanks,
Paul

I got it from Schneiders (sponsor to left) and my understanding is that he now has one 1445 left, but I got the last 1565. Give Ron a call - it's toll free and he's a super nice guy.
How would you describel the 1565 in terms of fast vs. mod/fast? Do you remember the butt length and how it balanced (I've never built one this long)? What about guides and spacing?
