Looking for suggestions regarding a blank very much like Mr. Buck Perry's Spoonplugging rod but in a length of 6' to 7' (same action, just longer). I did a search for "spoonplug" but didn't really see any specific blanks suggested.
Thanks Re: Spoonplugging blank

I have been looking for a copy of his book and some of the old "spoonplugs." They were once plentiful around here, but I haven't seen either in years.

I got mine from the store at Fishing Facts Magazine many many years ago and I also have the huge training course which fills up one of the big binders completely. Made my spoonplugging rod on the Lamiglas 5 ft 6 in XC66MH blank. My training course also had a source of spoonplugs in it, I'll have to look, they may still be available. Someone on a forum some time ago told me that the book was also available hardbound at www.buckperry.com I think. May be able to get spoonplugs there also. Re: Spoonplugging blank

Spencer, how does the Lamiglas rod compare with the "Spoonplugger's Finest"? I just need some more length to reach over the gunnel. And, buckperry.com and spoonplugger.net are both active sites. All the gear can be purchased at buckperry.com. Can't find any information there on the rod blacks however. Re: Spoonplugging blank

That's the reason I built my own, no way of knowing exactly what a spoonplugging rod from Buck was. There is a pretty good discription of it anf why he uses that length in the book and training course, and I had a spoonplugger in Cheboygan, Michigan that suggested the Lamiglas blank. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
