Wondering if anyone has tried writing in epoxy with the same process as marbling. I was thinking about giving it a try, but I thought I'd ask to see if anyone has had any successes or failures at it. AC FishinFreaks Rogers, MN Re: Marbling & Writing

I dabbled with it a little. I had the problem of it "moving" from the 0* spot on the rod where I wanted it to appear to near 90*'s to the side of that.
If the epoxy was nearer to being set up and the "name writing" color was done with an acrylic pigment, it might stand a bit of a chance. I just haven't re-tried with those things in mind. Putter Williston, ND Re: Marbling & Writing

It can be done on large blanks and it looks pretty cool. Do a marbelled layer and let it set 100 percent. Then add a clear coat let it set about 30 minutes before attempting lettering.... apply heat to blend in the weirdness. Use small tipped tools for the lettering. Ends up very Andy Warholish.

Yes it can be done. I found it works best when you use a very fine tipped writing "instrument." Let the epoxy set a good while before starting, so it doesn't meld and blend on you. The longer you wait (up to a point) the less it will "marble" and move around on you. This is important if you want the signature to stay the way you signed it.

Thanks guys. I think I'll try on a scrap blank. I hope it works! AC FishinFreaks Rogers, MN Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
