Can we have a logo competition?

Tom
Can we have a logo competition?
To draw attention to the creativity and excellent logos out there from custom rod builders?
Maybe a sponsor with connections to the decal industry could put up a very small / inexpensive prize?
Robert

Uh, I guess so. As long as I don't have to supply any prizes.

It would be nice to see what other builders are doing. And make no mistake, there is a certain legitimacy that comes from having a professional logo to go along with your custom rod building business.

WHy not put the small inexpnsive prize up yourself, rather than put the one company specializing in decals under pressure to give out a freebie - not that they wouldn't do it, the way you went about it ain't cool. You start teh contest, you provide the prizes.

I'll make this offer - if you guys want to have such a contest, I'll cover the cost of having Decal Connection print up a sheet of decals for the winner. But you need to do everything else, I don' t have time to take this on. I would suggest having a non-rod builder do the judging; a consumer would be better able to determine which logo might jump start his decision to purchase a custom rod from someone based soley on image. I think a consumer, since this is who aim these things at anyway, might be better to serve in the capacity of a judge. Perhaps a panel of consumer judges.

As far as how to set it up or how to go about it, I have no idea. I just have too much else going on. But you can certainly discuss it here and use the photo page to display the logos. If I can create a new category for logos I'll do so, but will have to find time over the weekend to dig around in the software and see if I can do it from my end.

I've hunted and fished almost every day. The rest have just been wasted.
