I would like to thank Ralph for the development of this product. I've used it since it came on the market. I will admit there is a learning curve and I made a few mistakes when I started. One was never use it over plasticote paint even if it had aged for 7 days. Also as far as storage goes I keep mine in the refrigerator and don't use a cap and screw as many have found useful. I have had no problem with it setting up since I started to refrigerate it. As far as the recent post on using it on wood, no one ever told me I couldn't so I've made a number of grips with it. I just posted some pictures of a checkerboard handle, I didn't mention that it was finished with permagloss. Also many of the pictures in my gallery that I've done in the past were done with permagloss. Yes I also use a lot of Tru Oil and it is also a great product. I will continue to use both in the future depending on the wood or the mood i'm in at the time. Re: permagloss revisited

Sam your explanation of your feelings toward Perma Gloss and True Oil were understood and well taken. I have only one suggestion. If you happen to be in a "bad mood" simply shut off your shop ventilation and open up the Ralfee Elixir of the Gods. Get a few whiffs of his magic potion and your mood will immediately change. I am presently at altitude about three times a day! I am hoping the stuff is what has kept Ralph around so long! Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/12/2007 02:58PM by Bill Stevens. When Ralph goes to the big rod building shop in the sky. They well not have to embalm him. Over the years Ralph has inhaled so much of his U40 products. As soon as he takes his last breath, he well automatically set up and cure. Then he could be used as a rod building mascot and door greeter

Anything that stinks that bad has got to be tough stuff.
I have my wife hold a gun on me every time I take a drink of KY Moonshine or use the "Ralfee Elixir of the Gods". Re: permagloss revisited

Just as a side note....I have a 4oz bottle of permagloss that has never seen the fridge. All I did was REPALCE the plastic cap on the bottle with a metal cap. The bottle might have 1/2oz left in it and it's still THIN and perfect, it has NOT set up at all. The bottle has been opened MANY times. All I do is put the cap back on tight, flip the bottle upside down once and sit it back on the shelf. I think that "flip" allows the epoxy to get around the cap and re-seal it each time. It takes pliers to get the metal cap off each time also. The metal cap is a WINNER!!!!!!!!! Nothing else needed. U-40 should have done this years ago, but thats another thread. Small Testors paint metal cap fits the 4oz bottle perfectly.

Thanks Dr. Great idea, I am going to do that. You know Tru Oil will do the same thing, but not near as hard. Although I usually have to use pliers to get the cap off Tru Oil after I have used it a few times. Re: permagloss revisited
