A guy today wanted a rod used on headboats for grouper or other bottom species-he says they use a 16 oz. weight and drop it to the bottom. He wants to be able to handle that weight but also not be a complete "broomstick"-in other words some flex would be nice. Any suggestions welcome! David Spence, Beaufort, NC Re: Looking for blank

For what its worth...alot of builders in the Northeast are using the Calstar GF850M or 900M as "raw material" for creating jigging rods for cod and party boat fishing using similar weights. You can snip a bit off the tip and the rest off the butt section, and quite possiblly give your customer the action and power he wants.

The Lamiglas, "Heavy Jiggin & Saltwater Composite", CHJ6680 should do a good job for him. Stan Grace Helena, MT "Our best is none too good" Re: Looking for blank

Thanks for the ideas-I also looked at the Gator Glass and have given him the options! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
