I have the results of those who ranked the various ad proofs for the RBI advertising campaign.
I only listed the top 5 finishers. #1 - ad proof #2-A #2 - ad proof #2-B #3 - ad proof #1-A #4 - ad proof #1-C #5 - ad proof #1-H For those who wish to see the ad proofs, the link is: [www.marsmedia.us] I also received many very good suggestions on changes to the wording on the proofs. I believe we will wind up with some very nice ads by the time they reach the magazines. The #2 series, the "Go Custom" series, appears to be the favorite among rod builders. We have received feedback from the following magazines. We are targeting only those that have rates for advertising that fit our current budget, which eliminates those marked with a double asterisk. If you have suggestions for other publications we should contact, please let me know. 1. RodMaker 2. Fly Fishing & Fly Tying (UK) 3. Fishing World (Australia) 4. Modern Fishing (Australia) 5. Fly Fishing in Salt Waters 6. Marlin ** 7. Sport Fishing ** 8. Fly Fisherman ** 9. Eastern Fly Fishing 10. Northwest Fly Fishing 11. Southwest Fly Fishing 12. In-Fisherman ** 13. Walleye In-Sider 14. Walleye, Catfish & Bass Guide 15. Ice Fishing Guide 16. SaltWater Sportsman ** 17. Saltwater Fly Fishing 18. American Angler 19. Fly Rod & Reel (look for our ad in June issue) 20. Midwest Outdoors 21. On The Water 22. Texas Saltwater Fishing Magazine Thanks, Joe Joe Douglas Rod Builders International 208-476-5708 joe@rodbuildersintl.com Re: RBI advertisement survey results

RodMaker is the absolute best bet for attracting rod builders to RBI, but not general interest fishermen, obviously.
Rates are usually tied directly to circulation, so in the long run, ad rates are really all about the same. In-Fisherman, BassMaster, Saltwater Sportsman, are perhaps the three largest circulated fishing publications in the U.S. Sporting Classics and Grey's Sporting Journal may be worth looking at, due to the type of sportsman who takes those publications. These magazines feature a lot of sporting art and are read by many who are in upper income brackets or who appreciate custom made sporting equipment. Custom rods are right up their alley, even the more expensive ones. ................. Re: RBI advertisement survey results

Thank you. We'll check into these suggestions.
Those marked above are only eliminated for now....some day when we can better afford their rates, they will be good magazines for our ads. Joe Douglas Rod Builders International 208-476-5708 joe@rodbuildersintl.com Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
