Folks:
Tom responded to a post about guide spacing with a term I'm not familiar with. I thought maybe I was not the only one so I'm posting it for all to see. Anyway, Tom, what does CCS AA refer to? I wasn't able to find the original post so I don't know the exact terminology you used. Is it CCS AA specifications, calculations, method??? Thanks Den (It's Walleye time here on the Kankakee River, Indiana) Re: Question for Tom Kirkman on CCS AA

The Common Cents System is the world's only objective and relative system of measurement for the inherent properties of a fishing rod or blank. AA, stands for Action Angle and quantifies the action of a blank or rod for relative purposes. The ERN, Effective Rod Number, is a relative power rating for a fishing rod or blank.

It's a very helpful system. Read all about it and how to take the measurements at the link on the upper left (Common Cents Info). Then measure the rods and blanks you have. You should also go to the database to see how some of the rods you are familiar with measure using this system. Re: Question for Tom Kirkman on CCS AA

For the basic measurements, all you need to read is part 1, and then only the last couple pages.

I guess the answer was right under my nose all along but I didn't connect the abbreviation with the actual wording, oh well. Thanks a million Tom and Steve. Will read appropriate article(s) and 'check out' database.
