threadless wraps

anyone doing anygood on the threadless wraps that was in RB and how many coats would you do on a summer run steelhead rod or would that be not the best application for that style dan

Wait until you see the cover of the newest issue of RodMaker which mailed late last week. It will raise more than a few eyebrows.

If you follow the instructions to the letter, you should be able to get sufficient coverage with about 4 or 5 coats. But the key is to keep applying coats until you've achieved the depth you desire.

I have no clue as to how bad a dude the summer run steelhead is or how big - but - speckled trout, in the four to five pound range, on a 843 popping blank with Alconites on top of blank I am using - 6 coats first application - three coats second application. This results in an encapsulation that looks like one coat of high build type finish.

i was wondering the same about how many coats but now thats been answered...in the next few weeks hopefully ill be building a snook rod and im going to do the threadless guide wraps and ill let everyone know how that goes and how long it lasts
