I'm building my 2nd rod and want to try a butt wrap on this one. I want to try either a Diamond or another easy wrap for a beginner sugestions anyone. The colors I want to use are metalic green underwraps with black over and gold trimmings, and I would like to add alittle red in some how Can some one steer me to a thread or link that would have a step by step picture tutorial of how to. I have looked around but just can't find a post or thread to help me. I like pictures and text. I'm not so good with this computer either. Also are there any recomendations on a good book or two to help me get started on wraps. I've read thru the library and found some great info. Re: New builder looking for a little help

Charles,
It would help if you un hid your e-mail address so that people could help via e-mail! In the meantime, try this [www.leapinbass.com] Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Re: New builder looking for a little help

You can't go wrong with Tom Kirkman's book called Rod Building Guide. It has the best step by step photos of a diamond or chevron wrap being made that you're likely to find. Plus it's just a darn good all around rod building book to boot. Best $15 you'll ever spend on this addiction. Some places may sell it for even less. Re: New builder looking for a little help

While you're waiting to receive Tom's book, here's another link to a tutorial by BD Ehler : [www.mudhole.com] Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
