Im having trouble finding stock suitable for a lazer printer to help out customers wanting personalized labels on their rods. Ive tried the jac and avery lazer printable clear labels even the majic tape trick but Im still suffering from the "milkiness" of the less than truely clear stock material. what do you guys use to add personal labels in colour to your rods thanks Allen glover Re: labels

Allen, first I don't know much about lazer printers, but I and others have done a considerable amount of testing of transfer materials for other types of printers and one thing that became apparent is Lazers depend on heat to transfer the inks. This heat will in some cases seperate the materials and can cause damage to the printer.A first step would be to contact the Lazer manufacturer for their recomendations if any, explain your needs exactly when asking for recomendations.I am not sure if the vinyl material we use for the Alps will work with a lazer and hesitate to mention any specific brand.Hope this helps. When it comes to the laser or ink jets, I have not seen any good clear labels. But there is a way around this. Use a sheet of high quality laser suitable paper and color the background to match that of the rod color. You should be able to get reasonably close with some experimenting. That way, you end up with about the same effect as if you did have a clear label which showed the rod color in the background. ............................. Re: labels

I just purchased a Brother P-Touch Labeler which includes software for the PC to design labels. I purchased the 3/4" clear label with white lettering, and I am going to try using it to label rods. I am still waiting on a batch of reel seats and my drying motor to come in. Soon as that happens I can give this labeler a try on a rod and see how it does. Re: labels

John, I got mine at OfficeMax. I designed a custom label on the computer with the software included. It includes a picture of a bass, company name, customers name, line rating, weight, and action. Printed it on clear tape with white lettering and placed it on a Lamiglass graphite blank, looks sharp, still waiting to get my dryer motors together that I bought from All Electronics, as soon as I do I can coat it with Epoxy and see what it looks like. Guess I will go searching on the board for the article that John pointed out, thanks for the note John. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
