using the butt section of a flippin blank

I would like to make a swim bait casting rod 7 1/2-8' but I need to be able to transport it in cars. Can I use the butt section of a flippin blank and a slower heavy action rod of accomodating length to achieve this?
And if that is possible would the remaining rod left from the flippin blank make a good casting rod? I would like to make a 6' med act. casting rod for my brother who lives on the family ranch in Red Bluff, Ca where we have a small bass pond.
Thanks for any info

Let's fish,
Chris

Yes and yes. You might also find a telescoping blank that will do what you want. Depending on the action you are lookig for. you could use a lower modulus flipping stick, pitching stick or even a salt water blank. Alot depends on the size of swimming baits you intend to use.

Forecast makes a pretty nice 7 1/2' Telescoping Flippin Stick as does the Rainshodow label. Check FishSticks4U on the ledt

The Rainshadow SW987 and the 2 piece SW967F have been used as swimbait blanks. Google those model numbers and you'll see lots of posts here and on other sites about them, including the swimbaits types and sizes they are good for. Flipping sticks in parts or as a whole I don't think make decent small pond bass rods. I'd go with something like the Forecast MB783 or the Lamiglas XS78M that Angler's Workshop has at a great price, everything I mentioned is available there.
