Yes, go to Mudhole and check their specials. They have many St. Croix blanks on sale, at good prices. Re: finding the right st.croix blank

I'd go to a retailer and find a production rod you like and then buy that blank, otherwise it can be like shooting in the dark. Re: finding the right st.croix blank

I just ordered 2-2s70mlf a couple weeks back and have them here. I can't imagine that they have been discontinued. Re: finding the right st.croix blank

Matthew,
All it takes to open a wholsale account with Mudhole is to simply e-mail them a copy of your license. 30 seconds. I'd wonder about a "favorite" dealer that was too "busy" to look something up for me. Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Re: finding the right st.croix blank

I'm still finding the 2S70MLF and 2S70MLF-2 listed, but those may be old listings. The 3S70MLF listing indicates it doesn't have quite the power you're looking for (though generally they're a little more powerful than listed, IMO). The 3S70MF has the power, but I doubt you'd be able to drop down to 1/8 oz.
Here's an off-the-wall suggestion--build a 3C69MLXF as a spinning rod. Again, it meets all your standards, though I'm not sure how it'll do with 1/8 oz. I haven't tried to throw something that small on mine, but I regularly throw 3/16 oz. baits on mine, and they work great. That XF tips allows you a lot of leeway. Fair warning: this blank is unusual. It excels with bottom-bouncing baits, such as drop-shots, small jigs, tubes, tx-rigged worms, etc. IMO, it's not a good fit for cranks and spinners. As far as cost, I don't have a price list in front of me, but on the models I listed above, I'm guessing you'd likely be more in the $38-45 range. Re: finding the right st.croix blank

Here is a link to St. Croix's online catalog, if you go down the page 2/3s of the way you will find the 2S70mlf you are looking for. You may need to ask your vendor again about whether he can get it or not.
