adding testor pigment to threadmater??

Id like to make some epoxy ramps and than coat them with some threadmaster colored with pigment from testor model paints. has anyone mixed the pigments with threadmaster? I think it would be fine, just looking to see if anyone has done this successfully...

thanks

Danny,

I just gave my first go at marbleing the other day and used threadmaster and testors with no problems. If you use 5 min. epoxy for the ramp, you can mix the testors with that as well to get a colored ramp.

If you use Testor's paints, make sure that you let it settle in the jar real good and pour off the solvents and just use the pigment

Sidebar: what about using a straight dye powder? Rit, Veniard, Orco? I've not tried it, but maybe someone has ??

Hello Danny
Make ramps using Rod Bond tinted with testor pigment of your choice. It is easier. Shape your ramp with a spatula while turning rod at 60+ rpm. A finish coat may be needed later if desired. Dry pigment can also be used with Rod Bond. A thin coat of high build can be added later to give more sheen with depth. Add some sparkle and really dice it up.
