I am looking to build a 6'6" Medium power Fast taper spinning rod and can spend up to about $75 for a blank. What would you recommend is the best blank, weight, sensitivity for the best price in the range of $75 or less?
Thanks, Dave Re: Best Blank, weight and sensitivity for the BUCK

Contact Andy at Lamar and ask for his CTS clearance list. He has some in that price range - I just bought one. Re: Best Blank, weight and sensitivity for the BUCK

I just sent Andy an email though his web site. However I didn't ask for CTS. How do you like the CTS blanks?
Andy is very good at explaining rod blanks, sensitivity, weight, modulus and he claims they are the best. Do you mind saying how much for the clearance blank similar to mine? Thanks, Dave Re: Best Blank, weight and sensitivity for the BUCK

I paid $72.80 for a 6'6" 1pc. cobalt color UL power. There was quite an assortment on the list at similar prices when I saw it but I'm sure a bunch have been snapped up. Might want to just call him to find out what's left. It's still in shipping to me so I have not even had my hands on a CTS blank yet. I admit I bought it on reputation and comments that I trust made by builders on this board. Seems like a very low risk purchase to me. Re: Best Blank, weight and sensitivity for the BUCK

Depends entirely what you'll be using the rod for, but here are two suggestions. I really like the St. Croix 3C69MLXF and the 3S66MF. Both would be in your price range. Personally, the 3C69MLXF is my "go-to" rod for nearly all medium power spinning applications. I love the XF tip. I use mine mostly for small TX rigs and drop-shotting. It's fantastic for shaking baits in the strike zone. Furthermore, it's also a fantastic rod for throwing zero-weight baits (sluggos, senkos, etc.) in open water applications. The 3S66MF is probably a more all-around rod. Either way, you'd be happy. Re: Best Blank, weight and sensitivity for the BUCK

Dave,
What size line/lure weight we talking about? Medium could be anything from 6- 12 to 8 - 17 lb depending on the manufacturer. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
