Grand Prize

Those of you who have attended previous RodMaker Receptions at the Rod Building Show the past 3 years can testify to the large number of door prizes given away. This year, at the 2007 event, we're adding a general door prize for all who attend the show, even if they do not attend the RodMaker Reception.

Grand Prize for the general attendees will be a brand new, fully rigged fishing kayak. It's a new design, something that has just come on the scene. The fully rigged retail value is somewhere around $1000. No, you do not have to buy anything nor purchase tickets - this is not a raffle and we're not interested in taking more of your money. When you come through the door you will just fill out a door prize ticket and drop it in a box. The winner will be announced Sunday afternoon. (If you're not driving and need it shipped to you, you will have to pick up the shipping expense.)

Also expect a major announcement at the event that should really shake up the custom rod building craft.

That's awesome! I've been wanting one of those (never fished from a kayak before) to use around home and at the beach, but spend for too many $$ stoking growing furnaces to get one on my own.

Now that would be awesome to win. And for anyone that never fished from one....what are you waiting for! It's a blast. Very stable (more stable than a canoe).

If I win the kayak can I swap it for a Renzetti lathe. You have to paddle a kayak and I am retired! Paddling is work. With a Renzetti all you have to do is turn on the switch and the rest is history. (So Ken Preston tells me.)

Ed,
There are easy ways to attach electric trolling motors (with shortened lower ends) to kayaks. A friend with Parkinson's disease uses one wtih great ease.
