I have build a few rods from kits, and I would like to learn about weaving - the equipment I need, books you would recommend I purchase, and any materials I should buy. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. Re: Weaving

RodMaker Volume 5 #4 (weaving) and Volume 6 #5 (color change weaving). Both articles were written by Jim Upton, inventor of the Wonder Weaver.
To start, you'll do better with some type of weaving jig than to try with double sided tape. Try the EasyWeave Loom listed in the sponsor column to the left. ........... Re: Weaving

Renzetti Inc. (link on the left) offers a weaving DVD and we offer Doc's three hour DVD set ( [] ) on weaving. I haven't seen any books on the subject, but if you find one, let me know! Mark Griffin [] C&M Custom Tackle San Dimas, California Re: Weaving

You can also make your own jig by following the instructions in RodMaker Magazine Vol. 9 Issue #3. The DVD from Renzetti is more for the set up and use of the Wonder Weaver than it is instructional as far as weaving goes. Doc's would be better for that. Re: Weaving

Hope you guys have received my email regarding Doc Ski's DVD. Had some stupid virus on my system but is now 100% cleared. Hope my emails have gone thru to you. Thanks. Anthony Lee Re: Weaving

Anthony,
Something changed in your mail settings because my anti virus software "refused' your mail and quarantined it. I got it opened, but my software wouldn't let me reply. Check for new mail... Another way to approach weaving is to go back to the "Custom Rod Thread Art" book and look at the weaving section there. This is now considered "basic" stuff and it was written to encourage doing it "manually" - i.e., without a jig.
OK, I know that sound silly, but if you do at least one weave that way, I believe you'll have a better "feel" for wweaving once you get a jig. rep Re: Weaving
