I am new to this forum. Please forgive my blunders. I have wrapped rods by hand in the past. Recently I came by a Custom Powerwrap machine due to the death of my brother. The thread is fed from the front with the rod rotation away from me. I find the thread supply carrier gets in the way when cutting and ending a wrap. If I convert this so the thread is fed from the rear it will make more room. The rotation remains the same but the thread would feed from under the rod rather then over the top. Has anyone had the same issue? Any suggestions? Re: Modify Custom Powerwrap machine

I don't see why it wouldn't work to have the headstock on the right. You could just figure 8 your belt if you wanted to change your rotation at any time. I do it all the time when I turn cork. Re: Modify Custom Powerwrap machine

.They only challenge I see with the thread coming from underneath is not being able to see gaps in the thread forming until they are half wrapped around. /And not being able to see the adjustment because they would be on the bottom also Re: Modify Custom Powerwrap machine

I prefer wrapping with the thread carriage in front. My Pac Bay wrapper is like that. When it's time to finish the wrap, after I cut the thread free from the spool, I just slide the carriage out of the way. It's on rolers, and a slight push, and it's gone. I can do it while still holdiong tension on the tag end and the looop. Re: Modify Custom Powerwrap machine

CPW offers a belt that is more flexible and is designed to figure eight for reversing the rotation. Anglers Workshop has them. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
