Marbelizing ??

I have some basic info on this technique & have been practicing on some spare blanks picked up from garage sales. Read the articles in past Rodmaker & it seems like I'm catching on. My question is concerning a recent picture posted by Scott Throop. (Scott, if your reading this, your work is fantastic). When using this technique to wrap double foot guides, is the underwrap epoxied first, place colors in second then wait to cure before securing the guides. I assume this is how it's done but would like some clarification. Thanks, Jim

Scott is truely in a league of his own with this whole marble thing. I really enjoy looking at his work.

Think ahead - blank color - underwrap with A nylon usually a light color - swirley in CP on nylon underwrap generating highlights of blank, plain nylon thread color and CP intensified color - let dry. This first step develops a background with depth and shading differences for subsequent marbleing of top coats. Apply first coat of finish with marbled highlights. If you play with thread, CP and finish you will start to understand just how talented Scott really is! I am only guessing at how he gets this work done. He made a picture post and listed the steps he uses recently.
